Progoster Devlog - It's over!

After eleven long weeks of work (one of them wasn't documented), I have finally finished a beatable version of the game!

I am so happy. I love this game, don't get me wrong. I love all of the enemies and characters I spent so long on. But holy jeez am I happy to say goodbye to this nightmare once and for all.

I thank you all for reading. I have no idea if I'll ever do anything like this again, but I'm happy for this wonderful (if incredibly stressful) experience!

good job!
followed the blogs and beat it
its pretty great that you stayed committed to it, but yeah short game jams are much easier to finish than a longer project without a deadline

some thoughts:

the screen shake feels great
the cafe theme for the level comes through well

the cups sometimes fly at me and hit me as soon i enter a room
i would have to memorise the levels to avoid that
but i like how the cup shatters
also the ghosts are also kinda a pain to hit
i think the difficulty of avoiding the cups and hitting the ghosts might be harder than you intended because i remember you saying in a blog that kids should be able to beat this
the cups are also a small enemy making it harder to aim at them
but i like the enemy variety, their all good choices

if theirs gonna be one level with no upgrades, the main weapon could have felt more powerful
the fire rate felt kinda slow but maybe the point is that you have to aim it

there were a few minor bugs
a ghost got stuck in the wall because it spawned from a cloche near it
the boss has a glitch where i plays the animation of it coming out of  (or into) the ground over and over
also i liked the boss design
but the boss should definitely have a health bar

it was a good blog, plenty of detail, maybe do more for your other games if your feeling up to it
